• After six months of collaboration with Unapei and Adapei 69, Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport has been awarded the S3A label, demonstrating its commitment to a more inclusive society.

• This initiative is part of VINCI Airports' quality of service policy for all passengers.

• Lyon Airport has involved its partners in reception and transportation in the S3A labeling process.

Beyond the regulatory requirements for public establishments, VINCI Airports aims to enhance the reception of all passengers, including those with visible or invisible disabilities. This is why Lyon Airport has embarked on a voluntary and inclusive approach, now recognized by the S3A label.

Created over 20 years ago by Unapei, the S3A pictogram (symbol of Reception, Accompaniment, Accessibility) indicates places accessible to people with intellectual disabilities. By extension, it benefits anyone facing difficulties in understanding, navigating time or space, or with written communication challenges, such as some elderly or illiterate individuals.

From the airport's accessibility audit to action plans

To qualify for the label and commit to long-term improvements, Lyon Airport collaborated with the local association Adapei 69 to assess accessibility and develop a long-term action plan. Some actions have already been implemented, including staff training for passenger interactions (Lyon Airport staff, CityOne, Gimap, Berthelet), and improving visibility of information for passengers with disabilities on the airport's website. Future plans include enhancing signage along passenger routes, installing additional outdoor call points (at the drop-off parking and bus station), and sharing preparatory travel videos on the website.

Listening to passengers to further enhance the system

Simultaneously, Lyon Airport is launching the Access Earth passenger survey within its terminals*, dedicated to accessibility issues. This aims to gather direct feedback from users to identify additional actions for improving platform accessibility. Insights from passengers with disabilities will enrich the defined action plan.

According to Tanguy Bertolus, President of the Executive Board of Lyon Airports :

"Reception, accompaniment, and accessibility for individuals with intellectual disabilities are matters of public utility and priorities for Lyon Airport. We are delighted to receive the S3A label, much like Nantes Airport, showcasing VINCI Airports' commitment to enhancing the experience for passengers with both visible and invisible disabilities. All our passengers, regardless of their profile, should be able to enjoy a successful travel experience!"

Valérie Bérard, President of Adapei 69, commented :

"Our association advocates for everyone, regardless of their disability, to be able to actively participate in society. Lyon Airport's achievement of the S3A label is a significant step towards the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. It also highlights the dedication of volunteers and the expertise of individuals with disabilities who collaborated on this effort alongside the airport teams."
