With 4 stars awarded by Skytrax (*), Lyon Airport’s quality of service is recognized, making it one of the 29 European airports to reach this level of distinction, including only three in France. These strong results highlight the excellence of VINCI Airports' customer experience policy, implemented across its network of 72 airports worldwide.

Screening checkpoint : Over the two summer months, 95.65% of checks were completed in less than 10 minutes and 98.50% in less than 15 minutes. The two new lines equipped with EDS Cabin (innovative next-generation equipment) allow security checks to be completed without removing liquids or electronic devices from cabin baggage.

Border control : The airport offers PARAFE automatic control systems with facial recognition, enhancing efficiency and speed of processing. The joint efforts of Lyon Airport and the Border Police result in wait times under 10 minutes for nearly 90% of travelers. [See Press Release]

High-quality infrastructure marked by "strong natural light and very high interior design standards." Terminal 1, inaugurated in 2017, was designed to meet the best international standards.

An enhanced customer journey through innovative services like the Access Wall, which allows arriving passengers to quickly and easily book their road or rail transport tickets, and "easy navigation" made possible by effective signage, soon to be complemented by a digital orientation map.

A pleasant shopping experience : Skytrax highlights the "visual appeal and layout of the commercial areas." The airport offers more than 21 shops, including 16 in the Place des Lumières, located at the heart of the reserved area in Terminal 1.

In a bid to improve service quality, a national priority for the Ministry of Transport, Lyon Airport is the first regional airport to launch a service quality committee, co-chaired with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, bringing together all stakeholders involved in the passenger journey (Border Police, Air Navigation Services, airlines, and ground handlers).

A major gateway to the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Lyon Airport has developed strong expertise in hosting major events, most recently with the Rugby World Cup. VINCI Airports teams in Lyon mobilized to welcome delegations and supporters in the best conditions, anticipating and coordinating specific operations related to these passengers, alongside France 2023, the event organizer, and all partners present at the platform.
